My Sympathies go out to Chris's Family. I worked with Chris in Winnipeg and at Meadowbank. He was always cheerful and ready to share his knowledge to help me when I needed it. I can always remember his calm character. I will remember him in my prayers. - Posted by: Mark Hammerling (Co-worker) on: Jan 19, 2026

I met Chris 11 years ago working at Toromont CAT. He was on parts counter and myself on reception at that time. He very quickly became a close friend. He was the type of co-worker that always made the most mundane tasks fun and the type of friend that was always there to lend a helping hand. He met every challenge with positivity and never missed a beat with his quick-whit and humor. Ill miss our trips to Nutimik Lake every summer and all the reels we would send to one another (we used to joke that reels and memes were our main form of communication). I am so grateful to have gotten the privilege of getting to know Chris over the years and calling him a friend. My deepest condolences goes out to his family and friends during this difficult time. - Posted by: Tristan McBey (Co-worker and Friend) on: Jan 19, 2026

I got to know Chris over this past year as part of CancerCare Manitoba Foundation's Ambassador program. Chris was always putting his had up to help out when he was available and did so with a smile. I had the opportunity to get to know him better both volunteering at and riding with Chris at CCFM's Ride Inside event this past November. He will be greatly missed and certainly left his mark. - Posted by: Susan Sullivan (Fellow CancerCare Manitoba Ambassador) on: Jan 19, 2026

I met Chris years ago working for Agnico Eagle. We bonded through our love of cheesy movie quotes and strange humor. Even from afar, with me working remotely, the day was easier and certainly more fun when he was there. Life took me in a different direction and even then, we remained friends - staying in touch about work and life - like nothing had changed. Celebrated our successes and felt each other's pain. Oh, how I wished I could take his for him. Never thought it fair that he had to endure this awful disease at such a young age but instead of anger I tried to lift him with the strength I had kept aside just for him. Remind him that he was never alone. I hope he could feel it. When he found himself travelling out our way, we booked a dinner so he could meet my family in person (My daughter already sparked a friendship with him via teams, she called him Christopher Robin) we ate, we laughed and it was perfect. I'm so glad we got a chance to break bread together. Although my heart is broken, I am glad he is no longer in pain. I am so lucky to have known him. I would like to pass along my sincerest condolences to his family & close friends. To our Christopher Robin, May you rest in peace my friend. Chris was new to our team but he fit right in. I'd honestly never ran into someone with such a steadfastly happy attitude, even when the work was hard he was in a good mood and joking. Im truely heartbroken to hear of his passing. He was a good man, and the lord was surely proud of him. - Posted by: Blake Rice (Co-worker & Friend) on: Jan 19, 2026

My deepest sympathies to Chris’s family and friends. I only knew Chris through disc golf. He was an amazing person, and will undoubtedly leave a huge hole in many people’s hearts. - Posted by: Kelvin Dyck (Friend) on: Jan 18, 2026

I worked with Chris for years at Brandt. He was always so cheery and polite. We didn’t keep in touch much after both leaving, but we did catch up a few months ago and I’m so glad we did. He was in such a good mood, high spirits, and was genuinely curious how my life was going. I am incredibly sorry and send my sincerest condolences to his friends and family for their loss. He was one of the good ones. - Posted by: Kaleigh (Co-worker) on: Jan 18, 2026
